what we believe

God ...there is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in one Essence and three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Gen 3:22; 1 Pet 1:2; Jude 20-21

Jesus Christ ...is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross, the complete and final sacrifice for our sins having satisfied the just wrath of God on our behalf.  He arose bodily from the dead and triumphantly over sin, death and Satan. He ascended into heaven, where He is seated at the right hand of God the Father.

Luke 1:35; Hebrews 12:2

The Holy Spirit ...the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and during this age, to convict men of sin, regenerate the believer, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.

John 14:26; John 16:8; Acts 1:8; Rom 8:11

Holy Spirit Filled ...the believer upon conversion receives the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Upon invitation the believer is filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered to supernaturally fulfill God’s will for their lives. True evidence of a Holy Spirit filled life is reflected in a godly lifestyle in Word, witness and power!

Acts 1:5-8; Acts 2:38; Acts 11:16

Man ...man was created in the likeness and image of God but fell into sin and is therefore separated from God. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

Gen 1:26-31, 2:7-25; Deut 22:5

Life... human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified taking of a human life and is murder.

Gen 9:6; Ps 139:14-16; Prov 6:16; Isa 44:24; 49:1; Jer 1:5; Luke 1:35-44

Marriage, Gender and Sexuality ...God has established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman and that all intimate sexual activity outside the marriage relationship, whether heterosexual, homosexual, or otherwise is inconsistent with the teaching of Scripture.

Gen 2:18-25; Ex 20:14, 17, 22:19; Lev 18:22-23, 20:13, 15-16; Matt 19:4-6, 9

Rom 1:18-31; I Cor 6:9-10, 15-20; I Tim 1:8-11; Jude 7; 1 Thess 5:19; Heb 13:4

Salvation ...in Jesus Christ alone can man be redeemed back to God and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can kingdom life be obtained. Grounds for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God.

Rom 10:9, 10; John 3:16-17; John 14:6

The Church ...are those who believe and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and savior and are part of the one, universal church, united together as the body and bride of Christ of which He is the head.

 Matt 16:18; Eph 1:22-23, Col. 1:18

Baptism and Communion ...water baptism by immersion soon after accepting Christ as personal Savior is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life in Jesus Christ. It is a sign that seals the believer's faith. The Lord's Supper is a memorial service setting forth in sacred and symbolic manner the death of the Lord Jesus Christ; all true believers and only believers should share in it.

Matt 26:26-28; Matt 28:19; 1 Cor 11:23-34

Future Events...in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ who will raise the dead to join with the living to stand before His throne of judgement. The redeemed believer will enjoy everlasting life in the presence and joy of the Lord, and the unbelieving lost will experience everlasting separation from God as punishment for their sin.

Matt 24:37, 40-41, 44; Luke 17:36; John 14:1-3; 1 Thess 4:13-18
